Visualization Plan

This is a summary of my notes on the visualization plan arrived at during last week’s very productive meeting:

In general: the picture moves from lifelessness into a more organic state. Certain graphic elements will be held steady, others will reflect a current state of a dramatic nature, while still others will follow this aesthetic arc.

These are the graphic elements we discussed and how they change throughout the picture:

Color Hue: constant throughout picture, staying with blues and greens; red will be used as a highlight in frame, the frequency of these highlights (the amount and number of red sources) will increase as we go

Color Saturation: follows overall arc; moves from unsaturated to saturated.

Color Intensity / Contrast : follows overall arc; moves from low contrast to high.

Line Orientation / Space : reflect current state of drama; horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines as well as flat or deep space shift throughout the show depending on the requirements of a specific moment; this has a lot to do with the intended POV

Line Quality : follows overall arc; moves from straight to curved.

Shape: this was not specifically discussed, but I believe that it should align the line quality; that is, they follow overall arc, moving, for shape, from squares through triangles into circles (possibly ending up with spheres?) and, for object motion,

Object Motion: not specifically discussed, but I think that it should follow line orientation; that is, reflect current state, straight movement at certain points, curved at others. The direction (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) should be used similarly.

Continuum of Movement (Eye Focus): not specifically discussed, but I think we should hold this one constant, preserving eye focus throughout the picture

Other Elements : other graphic elements not discussed should be held to a constant as to simplify this already difficult plan.
