Details:            a. 8 key-composites (38 seconds)

                        b. 1 rotoscope, shadow removal (1 second)

                        c. 3 rotoscope, element addition (12 seconds)

                        d. 11 rotoscope, rig removal (36 seconds)

                        e. 1 rotoscope, crew removal (5 seconds)

a. key composites (8 shots for 38 seconds)

A few green screens. I’ve already done these, but they could be cleaned up. The biggest problem is that I shot DV and the green screen colorspace is polluted. I’ll never do that again. Camera is mostly static (small adjustments) while the people move:

Before                                                          After (there are stars in b/g)

b. rotoscope, shadow removal (1 shot, 1 second)

Removing a shadow from a crew person. Should be easy with careful matting. The camera is completely static:

c. rotoscope, element addition (3 shots, 12 seconds)

I want to put an element, a distant light I’m thinking, moving behind the character’s head to help sell the car’s movement. I think a good matte with a few frames of roto when the element crossing behind the character’s head will work. Camera is static, characters move.

d. rotoscope, rig removal (11 shots, 36 seconds)

These are the difficult shots. I want to try and remove the string from around the cow’s neck. Some shots the camera moves, some not; the cow almost always moves.

Here are two of the more difficult ones. The cow moves around and the camera makes small adjustments to keep cow in frame.

Here’s an “easier” one. The cow finally stayed put. The camera dollies left to right. The string hangs beneath the cow and blows around in the wind.

e. rotoscope, crew removal (1 shot, 5 seconds)

The cow wrangler is visible in the very center of the frame. The camera is static, and so is the wrangler, so I think she can be garbage-matted out. However, fog rolls across the frame. After removing the wrangler, the fog would have to be re-added. I don’t think this should be too difficult, but I’m not sure.
